The Toronto Raptors winning their first NBA Championship, while the Washington Nationals also secured their first World Series title beating the Houston Astros 4-3. Barcelona FC with Messi still on their roster, winning the La Liga title once again, the eighth time in during that 11-year stretch. Liverpool lifting the UEFA Champions League trophy; Brazil as Copa America champions, Andy Ruiz a 25-1 underdog, upsetting Anthony Joshua to win the heavyweight title, and Unanimo Deportes making its debut and launching on September 9.
