Spain’s coach, Luis de la Fuente, publicly condemned the actions of the Argentina players following the World Cup final. The manager described the incidents as unacceptable.

During an interview with Spanish public television, the coach expressed his rejection of the confrontations that marred the title celebration. “In any case, that is intolerable, inadmissible, that cannot be allowed”, he stated when evaluating the attitude of the rival squad.
De la Fuente clarified that he did not witness the altercations at the exact moment they occurred on the pitch. “At the time of those events, I didn’t realize it. I was still celebrating with other people, hugging teammates, I didn’t notice, it was a very quick thing”, he detailed.
Despite the severity of the events, the coach separated the players’ sporting careers from their actions on the field. “Players of that footballing stature whom I have praised and continue to do so, who are great footballers, who have a fantastic manager, I am sure he is having and has had just as bad a time as we did seeing those reactions”, he pointed out.

Argentina’s reactions after losing the final
The manager’s statements are a direct response to the clashes involving Nahuel Molina and Leandro Paredes. Both interrupted the celebrations for the final 1-0 score at the New York New Jersey Stadium to confront Rodri, Eric García, and Gavi.
De la Fuente backed his players, highlighting their exemplary behavior in avoiding an escalation of violence in the face of the aggressions. Meanwhile, FIFA keeps an open case to evaluate potential violations of the Disciplinary Code.
