United States President Donald Trump accused basketball player LeBron James of being racist from the Oval Office of the White House. The attack occurred when he was asked by the press who the greatest player in NBA history is.

The president dismissed the Philadelphia 76ers’ recent signing and chose Michael Jordan based on his personal preference. “I think LeBron is… maybe he’s racist, or maybe he just doesn’t like Trump. I don’t know. I only like people who like me, so I’d say Michael Jordan, without a doubt,” he told reporters.
Trump justified his preference for Jordan due to their relationship off the court: “Michael Jordan is a friend of mine, I play golf with him. He’s a great guy,” he stated.
In response to being asked to compare the basketball careers of Michael Jordan and LeBron James, Donald Trump said that James may be “a racist”.

The history of tension between Donald Trump and LeBron James
These statements add to a history of public clashes between the two. In 2017, the player, who openly supports the Democratic Party, called the president a “bum” during the controversy over NBA champions visiting the White House. In response, Trump posted messages in 2018 questioning the athlete’s intellectual capacity following a television interview.
