Jeremy Sarmiento was born in Madrid, Spain. His birth parents are from Ecuador but left their country to live the American dream in New York.

After demonstrating his skills, especially on offensive, Jeremy was recruited to youth club team play in the Liga NOS of Portugal with Benfica.
In 2021 he left Benfica’s U-19 team to play for Brighton of the Premier League marking his return to England. In 2023, West Brom of this same league, obtained the winger through a loan.
In January 2024 the loan ended, and he returned to Brighton only to go out on loan again now to Ipswich of the Championship League (English Second Division), a club where he was only 4 months as Brighton decided that it was better for them to have Sarmiento return to their ranks.
