The 16 teams competing in the Copa America, set to start on June 20, will be allowed to register a maximum of 26 players, three more than usual, announced the South American Football Confederation (CONMEBOL) last month.

This decision is part of the adjustments to the tournament regulations announced by CONMEBOL’s Competition and Operations Directorate.
From now on, each team can register up to 26 players, although the total number of 50 members per team, accredited and paid for by the event’s organization, remains the same. Delegations wishing to register more than 23 players will have to reduce the number of officials to total the 50 allowed.
Additionally, up to 15 extra officials can be registered, whose costs must be borne by the associations. This will allow up to 65 people per delegation to be accredited.
With 16 teams in play, the Copa América will kick off on June 20 in of Atlanta and will conclude on July 14 in Miami.
